Using the terminal
The trading screen, zone by zone: the chart, the order panel, and your positions.
Draft — verify against the live product. This page was drafted from the product code and is pending verification. Some details may differ from the current build.
The terminal is where you trade. It is a full-screen layout with three working areas: the chart and order book in the middle, the order panel on the right, and your positions and history along the bottom. A top bar keeps your balance, equity, and risk limits in view at all times.
Try it without an account
The demo terminal at /trade/demo runs entirely in your browser on a simulated $50K 1-Step account. It is the fastest way to learn the screen before you start an evaluation.
The top bar
The bar across the top always shows:
- Balance, Equity, Available — your free balance, live equity (balance plus open profit and loss), and the margin available for new positions. Equity is colored green or red by your open P&L.
- A price ticker — a scrolling feed of market prices and 24h change, filterable by Crypto / TradFi / favorites.
- The account selector — switch between your accounts. On a demo account this also shows a reset button.
- Phase and risk readouts — your phase progress, profit target, and daily-loss / max-drawdown remaining.
The chart and order book
The center column holds the price chart with a candlestick view, timeframe tabs (1m through 1W), and overlays for your entry, take-profit, stop-loss, and the risk floors. Next to it, a panel toggles between the order book (live bids and asks) and the recent trades feed.
The order panel
The right panel is where you build an order. From top to bottom:
- Margin mode (Cross or Isolated) and leverage, capped per market by firm policy.
- Order type — Market or Limit (and a TP/SL helper for an existing position).
- Side — Long (green) or Short (red).
- Size — entered in USDC or in the asset, with a slider for a percentage of your available balance.
- Optional Reduce only and Take profit / Stop loss fields.
- A cost matrix showing the order value, margin required, estimated fee, and your liquidation price.
For exactly how orders fill and the limits enforced at order time, see Placing an order.
Your positions and history
The bottom console has tabs for everything that happened to your account:
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Positions | Open positions: size, entry, mark, P&L and ROE, liquidation price, margin, TP/SL |
| Orders | Resting limit orders waiting to fill |
| Order history | Limit orders that have filled |
| Trade history | Closed positions, with realized P&L |
| Funding history | Funding paid or received on open positions |
Each open position has a Close control (with a percentage slider for partial closes) and a Share control that opens a privacy-safe PnL card.
Keyboard shortcuts
Most actions have a shortcut when you are not typing in a field:
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
Cmd/Ctrl + / | Open market search |
Cmd/Ctrl + B | Switch to Long |
Cmd/Ctrl + S | Switch to Short |
Cmd/Ctrl + L | Open the leverage control |
Cmd/Ctrl + 1–5 | Change the chart timeframe |
Esc | Close any open modal |
When trading is paused
If an account is breached or a phase is passed, you can still close positions but cannot open new ones. The order panel shows the reason and the place-order button is disabled.
